Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
Since the 2010-2011 school year, Clinton High School has reduced academic failures by 67% and increased participation in Advanced Placement, Honors, Concurrent, and Post Secondary Education Opportunities to the point that 58% of our students in 2015-2016 school year took a highly rigorous academic course. We have also seen a 1% increase in student attendance since instituting RTI/MTSS at CHS. Increased attendance has not led to increased behavior referrals as our students feel safe and supported as the number of behavior referrals have dropped 24% since the 2010-2011 school year.
Below you will find the information that has moved Clinton High School toward success for every student. Implementation of MTSS is a collaborative approach, that includes buy-in from all stakeholders. The PLC process is one of the driving forces behind what makes CHS successful. Key ideas and significant actions that led to these dramatic outcomes include a highly efficient building-wide Intervention team that uses individual student data to identify and address students in need of Tier 2 or Tier 3 RTI support.
