  • Congratulations to Mr. Wauford for being staff of the week! Mr. Wauford is always willing to jump in and help others! 


  • The lunch ladies are super short handed today, so there will be no Concessions Stand.


  • Attention all students and staff! If you’re wanting to purchase a homecoming shirt, you have until Today at 11:59 PM to do so. Either scan the QR code on the TVs or look for an email from Mrs. Warren.M


  • Final Vote for Class Attendants and Homecoming King & Queen will be sent out today. Voting ends at the end of the school day Thursday Sept. 26


  • Sign-up for The Homecoming Dance has started. The form was sent to your school email by Ms. North. If you want to go to the dance you must sign up using this form. You need to have all the Edmentum tests done to go to the dance. Sign-up closes on Friday.


  • Out of school date forms for the Homecoming Dance are available in the library.  If you want to bring a date who doesn't go to CHS please stop and pick up a form.  Filled out forms get returned to the library. They are due back no later than this Friday.


  • On Friday night the River Kings hosted the DeWitt Sabers on Coan Field. The Sophomore football squad found themselves up 6--0 in the first quarter, and gave up two scores to find themselves trailing 6--14 at halftime. The Kings rebounded in the second half with a solid effort to take a 20--14 lead late in the game. The Sabers got behind the Kings defense and found a way to score in the final minutes, handing the Kings a close 21--20 loss.  The Varsity Kings found themselves trailing DeWitt early enroute to a 14--56 defeat at the hands of the Sabers.  Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer on and support the Kings this past weekend!!  The next game for the River Kings is this Friday night as they travel to Cedar Rapids to take on the Saints of Xavier Catholic High School. GO KINGS!!


  • The Queens hosted their 50th annual River Queen varsity Invite. The varsity went 2-3 and played some of their best volleyball of the year at the right time. They lost to the eventual runner up Wahlert in pool play. They battled hard in the 2nd pool play game versus Senior losing in 3 sets. To round out pool play, the Queens knocked off the Storm in 2 sets. In the Silver bracket, the Queens had a rematch with Camanche and took them down in 2 sets. In the Silver bracket Championship match, the Queens faced MAC foe, the Sabers from DeWitt. Although they beat them in total point differential by 5 points, the Queens lost sets 1 and 3 by 4 total points. Overall a great day of volleyball and heading in the right direction for the final stretch of conference play.  For the day, Olivia Glover  had 32 total assists and Venessa Hensel had 22 assists. Avert Luett led the Queens at the net with 16 kills, followed by Maloree Byrns with 14, and Joselyn Petersen with 12 kills. The Queens total 32 total aces, led by Maggie House and Haley Thomas. Thomas led the Queens defensive back court with 25 digs, followed by Olivia Glover with 18 digs. Luett had a wall setup at the net and had 2 solo blocks and 5 assist blocks. Thomas led the passers with a team high 1.72 passer rating.
