February 12, 2024 - The Clinton Community School District (CCSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Mariah Reeves as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, effective July 1, 2024.

Ms. Reeves brings diverse experiences and a proven innovative leadership track record to her new role. With a background rooted in curriculum development and instructional best practices, Ms. Reeves is poised to make significant contributions to the growth and improvement of learning outcomes throughout the Clinton schools.

Having earned her Secondary Education degree from Coe College and a master's degree in PK–12 Educational Leadership with an administrative license and evaluator approval from Drake University, Ms. Reeves is well-equipped to lead strategic initiatives to enhance the educational experience for students and educators alike.

Before joining the Clinton Community School District, Ms. Reeves served with distinction as the principal of Dubuque Wahlert High School. During her tenure, she demonstrated a commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in education, overseeing the implementation of competency-based learning, Response to Intervention (RTI) structures, instructional coaching practices, J-term, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.

Before her principalship, Ms. Reeves held positions of increasing responsibility at Wahlert, including Academic Innovation Coordinator and associate principal. In these roles, she played a pivotal role in driving positive change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Ms. Reeves began her professional career as an educator in the English department at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School. She later transitioned to Mount Vernon High School, where she taught secondary English and played an integral role in curriculum design and district leadership initiatives. As a Professional Learning Community (PLC) facilitator and high school representative, Ms. Reeves contributed to developing a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Framework and a Standards-Based teaching and learning platform at Mount Vernon.

Ms. Reeves expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity to join the Clinton Community School District, stating, "I am truly honored to join Clinton Community School District as Director of Curriculum and Instruction. The deep sense of pride in students, staff, and community at CCSD is palpable. I am thrilled to be a part of an educational community that ensures ALL students' needs are met academically, socially, and emotionally. As educators, there is no profession more powerful than our opportunity to walk alongside students and their families and prepare them to build the future they desire beyond their K-12 journey. Together, we will continue the momentum at CCSD to best serve every student and achieve success for ALL."
