  • Congratulations to Camryn Sattler who got 4th at state and broke the school record by 7 seconds in the 3000! How awesome!


  • Remember to get things returned before the school year is over.  Elevator keys to the main office or a $10 fine, Books, headphones, ect to the library, Sport items to Ms Baker in the activities office. 


  • CHS International Club will volunteer on Saturday, May 18 in Eagle Point Park. Meet at 9:30 AM at the Nature Center (red barn). Please see Mrs. Krueger if you have any questions.


  • Students: You will get charged for loaner items not returned. Don’t expect someone else to return things for you. If you have borrowed a loaner computer, it is checked out to you, so you will have to pay for it if it isn’t returned ($280).  If you borrowed a loaner charger and haven’t returned it you will have to pay for it ($15).  


  • Anyone that is interested or plans on playing football next season, there will be a meeting next Wednesday after school in the theater.  If you have any questions please see Coach Herrig


  • Seniors: make sure your fees & fines are paid for graduation. Any Elementary, Middle, & High school fees or fines must be paid for Graduation. This includes negative Lunch account balances.  All Fees, Fines, & Balances must be paid and all borrowed items returned, like elevator keys, computers, & chargers, to take part in graduation. Questions ask Ms. Melvin.


  • Student computer check in is coming up soon. Make sure you remove any decals or stickers you may have added to your computer or case and erase/clean up all marks. Fees will be applied if your computer and/or case are marked up when turned in.


  • The mighty River Queen Tennis Team made up of Haan, Rowden, Grinnall, Atkinson, Gonzales, Brown, and Srp has placed 8th in the state already, but on Saturday they will host the match against Cedar Rapids Washington to be in the final four.  If you see these fierce warriors of the court today at school, wish them luck.  They are already some of the finest tennis players in the state of Iowa!


  • Tonight, Friday, May 17th, the River Queens soccer team travels to Bellevue High School to take on the Comets in the opening round of the Iowa Class 2A Region 7 Girls Soccer post-season tournament! The match will be decided at CC Hammann Field at the Bellevue High School Athletic complex, 1601 State Street in Bellevue. Come cheer on the Queens as they take their game to Bellevue!!
