CHS Table Tennis Club will meet today after school in Mrs. Krueger's classroom A317. New members are welcomed!
Homecoming is coming up soon!! If you are in need of a dress, the Royalty Rack Closet will be open on Tuesdays after school from 3:45 - 4:10. All clothing from the closet is free of cost! Donations are greatly appreciated! Any questions please email Addison Lorenzen.
Upcoming career interest opportunity: First Responders Trade Show -(Police, Fire, EMT, Military) Thursday October 3rd at the Clinton Armory. Please stop by room A227 or e-mail Marla Schultz marla.schultz@csdkq.org or you can also contact your high school counselor. This event will be held from 9am-Noon and necessary to RSVP by Friday September 27th.
The lunch ladies are still super short handed today, so there will be no Concessions Stand.
Final Vote for Class Attendants and Homecoming King & Queen was sent out. Voting ends at the end of the school day Thursday Sept. 26. Freshmen Attendant candidates: Alaina Carpenter, Lucas Clark, Chase Collender, Emily Culver, Julian Davis, Tanner Feddersen, Lilly Hankins, Liv Lonergan, Mayson MacAvoy, Molly Steiner. Sophomore Attendant candidates: Anna Bedford, Kayden Brannum, Ethan Carpenter, Maddux Cooley, Jordan Gruhn, Vanessa Hensel, Madyson MacAvoy, Dannika McDowell, Aumree Russell, Daniel Tyler. Junior Attendant candidates: Alejandra Anguiano Facio, Maloree Byrns, Hilario Cuatlacuatl, Asher Dornbush, Kora Huizenga, Olivia Parker, Carryn Sattler, Konnor Schroeder, Isaiah Valle, Sloan Weaver. Senior King & Queen candidates: Paul Anderson, Nora Brown, Tatum Crigger, Sescie Haan, Jackson Hoffman, Samuel Hoffman, Avery Luett, Emeree Luett, Randall May, Jaxon Spooner. If you are one of these candidates and you have not yet signed up for the Homecoming Dance please do so today.
Sign-up for The Homecoming Dance has started. If you want to go to the dance you must sign up using the form. You need to have all the Edmentum tests done to go to the dance. Sign-up closes on Friday. Tickets will be sold Sept 30 till Oct 3rd in the library. Cash or check only.
Out of school date forms for the Homecoming Dance are available in the library. If your date is from a different High School we need their Principal to sign the form, so don’t wait till the day before they are due to grab one. Filled out forms get returned to the library. They are due back no later than this Friday. If you don’t return the form your date can’t come.
After-School Tutoring is being offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 - 4:45 in the New Library! There is no cost. We have staff in most of the core classes available! If you need to get grades up for Homecoming this is the place to be. Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend!
Last night River Kings and Queens XC competed against ten teams, including three top ranked teams, in the Solon Invitational. Varsity girls placed 5th missing and were led by medalists Aubrey Rivers 10th, Carryn Sattler 11th, Alli Haskell 17th. Sescie Haan, and Kirstin Bengtson rounded out the scoring. Varsity boys competed 9th. The Kings were led by Kolton Lorion, Ed Weiner, Zarek Haskell, CJ Estes, Jayden Krogmann, Anthony Sayson, and Cael Schwarz. JV Girls placed 5th and were led by medalist Akehmah McClendon, Avery Balog, and Sophia Morley. The JV Boys placed 7th and were led by David Peralta-Flores, Carter Dunham, and Asher Dornbush. Fourteen runners earned a PR. They include: Rivers, Balog, Morley, Alexis Endreshak, Kaylee Davis, Brooklyn Cooley, Estes, Zarek Haskell, Sayson, Krogmann, Schwarz, Dunham, Dornbush, and Johnny Gonzalez. The team had fought hard against some tough competition and ran well. If you see a runner in the hallway, give them a high-five. The harriers travel to Dubuque on Thursday to compete in the Dubuque Invitational.
