On Friday night, the River Kings hosted the Oskaloosa Indians for a Homecoming battle on the gridiron. The Fresh/Soph came away with a dominating win with a score of 39-14. It was a whole team effort and everyone contributed to the win. The defense had an especially commanding performance totaling 6 turnovers! Up next, the Varsity River Kings found themselves ahead early, leading 2--0 on a safety. Before long, the Kings found themselves down by a score of 21--2 going into halftime. There were turnovers on both sides of the ball, but the Kings rallied, scoring points quickly in the third quarter. They were still behind in the 4th quarter but managed to pull out a come-from-behind victory on Homecoming night, WINNING 26--24!! What a WIN!! Thank you to everyone who came out for Homecoming to support the KINGS! We witnessed a great team effort by a group of young men who believe in each other and do not give in!! Please join us this Friday for our home game against Burlington as the River Kings continue to battle this season!!
