Please check the “lost and found”, located outside the library, if you have lost something. It is getting very full of lost items. With the weather getting colder you will want your lost sweatshirts and coats back. If you lost something small or electronic, check with the library ladies. Not everything lost gets found right away so keep checking.

Attention all Volleyball Girls. The volleyball banquet will be Today, December 4th at Manny's (Fulton) from 6:30-8:00pm. Come enjoy our last night together as a team with some pizza, tacos, drinks and as we recognize our freshman, sophomores, junior varsity and varsity volleyball players.
The boys sophomore and Varsity teams traveled up to Cedar Rapids Jefferson last night. The sophomore team struggled to find a rhythm on the offensive side of the court against the Jayhawks and ended with a final of 51-83. The varsity boys also got off to a slow start but battled their way back into the game despite being in some foul trouble. The boys fought hard in the second half but came up short with a final of 52-65.
The River Queens basketball team met some stiff competition last night as they played a Davenport North program who is ranked #5 in Class 5A in the state. The JV team came out slow in the opening quarters getting down early but making a strong comeback heading into the 4th quarter only down 9 points and making the game interesting only to give up a few easy baskets and putting the game out of reach. In the varsity contest, North's quickness proved to be too much which led to easy baskets off their pressure putting the Queens down early. Their constant pressure and quickness on both sides of the court the whole game left the young Queens who have no seniors scrambling on defense and struggling on offense. Although the teams lost it was a good test to see where they are deficient and need to improve. The Queens play Friday at Davenport Central where they will take out some revenge and hope to regain some of the intensity they had in the first games of the season.
