CHS Band invites you to our premiere concert in the brand new Durgin Performing Arts Center tonight at 7:00. Both the CHS Concert Band and Symphonic Band will be performing a variety of literature as well as performing together the premiere of a new piece, titled “Dance of the River King”, written in dedication to the Performing Arts Center!
GIRLS TENNIS: Please turn in your money for your team t-shirts and make sure your parents know that on Thursday, at 530 pm, at Max Lynn outdoor courts we will have our parent meeting. It will be short and sweet, with a treat to go.
Prom is May 3rd. Prom sign-up will be starting at the end of next week (April 4th). Get those Promposals done so you can get signed up when we drop the form. Make sure you are going to class & working hard to get/keep your grades passing. Out of School date forms are available in the library already. ISASP is coming up too and those tests need to be done to go to the dance so please plan to be at school on the testing days.
An admissions rep from Iowa State University will be visiting the counseling office on Thursday, March 27th at 9:00 am. Please let Mrs. Klinkhammer know if you are interested in attending.
Let's see your River King spirit! Football cheer applications are now available at Mrs. Kooi's desk! You must bring a completed app to cheer clinics on March 31 and/or April 1st with tryouts on April 2 in Yourd gym at CHS! Hope to see you there!
Please check the due date on your library books. If they are overdue and you are still reading them please stop in and get them renewed, otherwise please return them so someone else can read them. If they are overdue too long they get marked as lost and a fee is added to Infinite Campus. The fee can be removed once the book gets returned but please just renew or return them before then.
The River Queen Track and Field team hosted the first outdoor meet of the year last night. The Queens had a great night on the track and in the field events. Placing for the JV Queens in the following events. JV Shot Maggie House 3rd, Maloree Byrns 4th. JV Discus Maloree Byrns 6th. JV High Jump Aumree Russell 1st Alli Haskell 2nd. JV open 100 Aiyunah Orr 7th. The JV Distance Medley team of Moss, Hamstra, Shadden, Endreshak got 3rd. In the JV open 400 Olivia Glover 3rd and Kaylee Davis 5th. The JV 4x200 team of Determan, Samuels, Camila Hunter, Williams got 2nd. In the JV 200 Lauren Whitney 1st, Bryanna Samuels 2nd, Molly Steiner 3rd, Camila Hunter 4th. JV 400 hurdles Mady MacAvoy 1st place. 4x100 team of Determan, Hankins,Luett, Bedford 4th. The weightwomes 4x100 team of Maggie House, Haylee House, Fergurson, Bryns 2nd. The Varsity girls that placed in the following events are.Aubrey Fergurson 3rd in the shot put and 3rd in the Discus. Elle Lonergan 1st in the High Jump. Joselyn Petersen 2nd in the long jump. Aubrey Rivers 3rd place in the 3000. The Sprint Medley team of Jensen, Carpenter, Haan, Sattler 3rd. The Shuttle Hurdle team of MacAvoy, Bedford, Samuels, Williams 3rd place. The Distance Medley team of Skiff, Petersen, Sattler and Haskell 2nd place. 4x200 team of Jensen, Russell, Hankins, Skiff 4th place. Open 800 Carryan Sattler 1st place. Open 200 Petersen 3rd and Skiff 4th. 400 low hurdles Sescie Haan 1st place. The 1500 Alli Haskell 1st place. The 4x400 team of Haan, Steiner, Whitney, Sattler 3rd place. The Coaching Staff is proud of all the girls and the hard work they have put in. Keep it up. The next meet is Thursday at North Scott.
Last night the River King Track and Field team competed in the North Scott Early Bird. The varsity Kings competed hard, finished fourth and had many PRs. Leading the way for the varsity Kings were: 2nd place Jordan Gruhn, high jump. 4x400 relay: Jayden Krogmann, Konnor Schroeder, Jordan Coleman, Joey Anderson. 4th place 4x200: Maddux Cooley, Coleman, Ronnie Abott-Lutton, Krogman. 4x800: Anderson, CJ Estes, Jordan Stafford, and Riley Engelkins. Shuttle Hurdle: Ethan Carpenter, Carter Dunham, Max Smith, Jay Dodd. JV Kings were led by: 2nd place 4x200 relay: Carpenter, Gruhn, Marshall Johnson, Hunter Ball. 3rd Place 800 medley relay: Ryne Freyer, Kayden Walters, Max Smith, Carter Dunham. 4x200: EJ fielder, Erik Harris, Ryne Freyer, Dallas Ralston. 4th place: 1600m medley relay: Fielder, Ralston, Cole Johnson, Connor Roberts. The Kings are back in action tomorrow at the Pleasant Valley Spartan Invitational. Good luck Kings.
