DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wednesday April 2 2025

I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one Nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

  • Remember Tomorrow & Friday the wall connecting the old building needs to be demolished for our final phase of construction!  For safety, we need to close the kitchen & cafeteria due to proximity these days (No breakfast, 2nd chance and lunch). We will have some grab and go options for students who need it.  There will be some space available for students to eat, but if most students can plan on having off campus breakfast and lunch these two days this would be helpful. Thank you

  • Most students will be starting IASAP Testing next week. It is very important that you take these tests and try your best when taking them.  Make sure you charge your computers & bring your chargers to school.  The library will not have loaner chargers available during testing. So if you are low on power you will need to come get a loaner computer.

  • Books, your best friend after testing.  Students cannot be on electronics for any reason other than testing during our sessions. So stop into the library and check out a book if you don’t already have one.

  • If you have lost your computer charger, once you paid the $15 for it you will be issued a new charger.

  • ATTENTION SENIORS: Cap and gown for seniors will be distributed during lunch period on 4/4 beginning at 11:22.  Jostens will be set up on the 1st floor collaboration space near room A116 in the Academic Wing. If you have not paid for your cap and gown it is $50 and must be paid with CASH and in exact change.

  • Attention All Volleyball Players: There will be a volleyball team meeting Today, April 2nd in Coach Cewe's classroom (A212) at 1:35pm for current 9th, 10th and 11th graders. We will discuss summer practices, camps, and more volleyball opportunities. Please do your best to attend as we will discuss several summer options in preparation for our fall 2025 season.

  • The Requirements for Prom: Passing classes, good attendance, fees paid, along with ISASP taken, are to go to the Dance itself, not to be signed-up for the dance.  So if you want to go Sign-up (starting April 4th) and then, if needed, get your grades up, fees paid, or tests finished.

  • Last night the River King Track and Field team competed in the North Scott Deac Ryan Relays. The varsity Kings competed hard and finished sixth out of twelve teams in blustery conditions.  Placing high for the varsity squad were: 2nd Place: Kolton Lorion, 400 low hurdle.  3rd Place: Carter Dunham, 400 low hurdle; Jordan Gruhn, high jump.  4th Place: Jay Dodd, long jump; Marshall Johnson, high jump.  High placewinners for the JV team were: 1st Place: Tayton Castle, shot put; Jadis Franklin, discus.  4th Place: Cooper Belitz, shot put.  Nice work Kings.

  • Congratulations to Clinton High School FBLA participants at the State leadership conference this weekend.  Lila Keister, Bryanna Samuels, Tamara Soto, Aurora Howard and Aubrey Rivers competed in various business topics including the following events:  Human Resource Management, Visual Design, Marketing, Business Management, and Social Media Marketing.   Aubrey Rivers won 1st place in the Business Management competition, besting all in the state of Iowa.   Aubrey first made the top 15 in the state by performing well on an assessment, then was given a prompt to present a solution to a problem which was a 10 minute performance.  Aubrey is now qualified to represent the state of Iowa at The National Leadership Conference in California this summer.  Congrats Aubrey and all other FBLA participants!
