Seniors: If you haven't received your cap and gown yet. Mrs. Melvin has them at her desk on the 1st floor of the academic wing. Please pick them up sooner rather than later.
Are you planning to play a sport in college? Sign up outside Room 311 for our after school meeting on April 30th. We will have former collegiate athletes, coaches, and recruiters to answer questions and provide guidance on how to make this dream a reality.
Prom sign-up has started. Once you sign up, If your date doesn’t go to CHS, you need to fill out an Out of School Date form for them. The form needs to be signed by their High School Principal so don’t wait till the day before they are due to grab one. They are due to the library by April 25th.
If you signed up for the variety show please check your email for your audition time after school today. If there are any questions or conflicts please contact Lillian Asay or Leilani Calvillo. If today doesn’t work for you please email us and we will figure out an alternate time for you. If you are a staff member interested in performing please email us ASAP!
Attention Juniors! Next year we are having the first ever Spirit King and Spirit Queen. This will entail reading daily announcements, attending events as the face of CHS, co-hosting pep rallies and some awards ceremonies, working with a faculty panel and student council to plan events, and leading the crowds at sporting events. Want more information? See Mr. D. Schneeberger, Mr. McEwen, Mrs. Leafgreen, Mrs. Rallie, or Ms. Bradway for an application or with any questions. Deadline is April 30th.
Students please check your email from Miss Melvin for an invite to the Excellence in Academics Awards occuring on April 25th. Even if you don't plan to participate please fill out the form and mark NO. If you do not fill out the form by April 20th it will be assumed that you will not be attending and you will not be able to participate.
Clinton River Queens took on North Scott Lancers at the River Cities Indoor Tennis and Pickleball Courts on Tuesday night. For singles matches, Elizabeth Grinnall was the first off the court in a decisive victory of 6-1, 6-0. Katie Atkinson was off next, with a 6-0 6-4 match, Josie Srp bringing in a double bagel 6-0, 6-0, then Lou Gonzalez won 6-1, 6-2. This group did the same in doubles. Haan and Rowden lost in super tiebreakers by 2 points. Each match was very tight. Good win Queens!
Last night, the River Queens soccer team hosted the Lancers from North Scott in a MAC Conference battle on Coan Field. The Lancers lived up to their billing as one of the top teams in the state in class 2A, beating the Queens in dominating fashion in both the Varsity and JV matches. The Queens return to action tonight as they travel to Davenport to take on the Assumption Knights. Thank you to our supporters who came out last night to cheer on the River Queens!!
Last night the River King Track and Field team competed in the Gateway Classic. The varsity Kings competed hard and finished fifth out of ten teams. Placing high for the varsity squad were: 2nd Place: Jordan Coleman, 400 meter dash. 4x400 meter relay of Currin, Krogmann, Lorion, and Shannon. Marshall Johnson, High Jump. 3rd Place: Sprint Medley Relay of Currin, Abbott-Lutton, Schroeder, and Krogmann. Cole Shannon, 400 meter dash. 4x200 meter relay of Currin, Cooley, Abbott-Lutton, and Krogmann. Joey Anderson, 800 meter run. 4th Place: Maddux Cooley, 100 meter dash. Ethan Carpenter, 110 hurdles. High placewinners for the JV team were: 2nd Place: 4x400 meter relay of Anderson, Schroeder, M. Johnson, and Estes. Julian Davis, long jump. 3rd Place: Distance Medley of Ball, Fielder, Franklin, and Stafford. 4x100 meter relay of Freyer, Walters, Ralston, and Orr. Kenan Bailey, high jump. Cooper Belitz, shot put. 4th Place: Spring Medley of Freyer, Walters, Ralston, and Franklin. 4x200 meter relay of Freyer, Walters, Ralston, and Orr. Nice work Kings.
