Congratulations to one of our own at CCSD, Kerry Espey, on the publication of her new children’s book, Not Yet! 📚 Jefferson Elementary staff organized a special book signing to celebrate Kerry. We are so proud of her accomplishment and the inspiration she brings to our students and staff!

Favorite work-related memory response continued: "My favorite memories come from the connections built along the way: fun-filled interactions, shared laughter, and creating a learning environment where students felt acceptance, belonging, challenge and growth. There is nothing quite like witnessing a student's lightbulb moment - when something finally clicks and they recognize their own potential. I'm also deeply moved by the way families and staff consistently support students, rallying around them and helping them envision their highest possibilities. It has been an honor to work alongside fantastic educators who are incredibly passionate and compassionate about what they do. These collaborative, heartwarming successes are some of my most cherished memories."

Some of our second graders have wrapped up their Civil War unit in CKLA, and what an incredible learning journey it has been! Over the past few weeks, students explored the people, events, and big ideas that shaped this important time in our nation’s history. They asked thoughtful questions, built new vocabulary, and made connections between the past and the world we live in today. #CCSDStudents

#CCSDGoldKey Clinton Middle School 7th grade science teachers proudly presented the Gold Key Award to Clinton Trees Forever. Each year, CMS students have the opportunity to get their hands dirty and gain a meaningful, hands-on learning experience by planting trees alongside their team. In addition, Clinton Trees Forever works annually with our 3rd graders to help them plant their very own tree. Thank you for your continued partnership, and congratulations, Clinton Trees Forever!

Three of our #CCSDStudents participated in a Student Reading Interest Panel facilitated by Mississippi Bend AEA. They joined a six-student panel from area schools, answering questions and sharing valuable feedback with a large group of teacher librarians from MBAEA schools. Students discussed how they choose reading materials, what makes books engaging, the difference between classroom reading and choice reading, and more. Their insights will help strengthen libraries and reading experiences for students across the region. We are incredibly proud of their thoughtful responses and meaningful contributions. 📚
