The Afterschool Program includes the Student Adventures Afterschool Program (SAAP) and Study Connection Youth Mentoring. Please visit those individual pages on our website for more information. Visit each school’s webpage for Afterschool Program monthly schedules, activities, special announcements, and contact information for that school’s program staff. The Student Adventures After School Program, formerly called 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC), began in the 2003-2004 school year. We currently have afterschool programs at all elementary schools and Clinton Middle School. Grants for the middle schools began in 2004. The two middle schools merged programs in 2014 with the opening of the new middle school. The afterschool program has developed a Sustainability Plan to help maintain and expand after school programs on a long term basis. If you would like to review that plan, please feel free to contact the program director, Molly Jones.

The Mission Statement for the program is to provide students expanded academic and enrichment learning opportunities in a safe environment by utilizing all available community resources, thus empowering them to succeed by providing them quality learning experiences. Our Vision Statement is that all Clinton families and youth will have access to affordable out of school time programs within the community that enhance a child’s positive development, safety and opportunities by offering youth expanded academic and academic enrichment activities that enhance their learning skills. Our program has an emphasis on academic assistance and academic enrichment activities. The youth experience learning through visits to museums, science and art activities, multi-cultural activities, health and physical fitness activities as well as tutoring in math and reading and general homework assistance. Additionally, youth participants have the opportunity for recreational activities such as swimming, roller skating and bowling, among others. Currently the afterschool program targets youth that score below the 40th percentile in math and/or reading. The reason being that funding for this program is currently provided by grants that are directly tied to No Child Left Behind (NCLB) regulations. If you would like more information about the Clinton Schools Afterschool Program or would like to enroll your child, please contact the site coordinator at your child’s school or call Molly Jones, Program Director. For Study Connection/Mentoring questions please contact Molly Jones.
